Gangs, Sex Trafficking and Meth Interconnected in Indian Country

A study out of the Northeastern State University in Tahlequah, Oklahoma focused on methamphetamine abuse by ten Native American tribes in the western U.S. The study found that these communities are particularly vulnerable to members from outside drug cartels due to geographic location and a lack of resources, and that the widespread use of the drug had extremely detrimental effects on the tribal communities affected.
