Cerebral aspergillosis and pulmonary tuberculosis in a child with chronic granulomatous disease.

CONCLUSION: This report describes the course of the patient's illness in order to highlight the challenges associated with the management of these infections. We also aim to stress on the importance of pathological diagnosis before starting a therapy. PMID: 27308089 [PubMed]

Conclusion: Our findings indicate that acute MOG-Ab ON shows florid intra-orbital and peri-optic inflammation, likely to involve meninges and nociceptive fibers around the optic nerve. This may explain the frequent and often severe frontal or orbital headache that precedes the visual deficit, sometimes misdiagnosed as migraine.

We report the epidemiological, clinical, laboratory, and radiological characteristics and treatment and clinical outcomes of these patients.MethodsAll patients with suspected 2019-nCoV were admitted to a designated hospital in Wuhan. We prospectively collected and analysed data on patients with laboratory-confirmed 2019-nCoV infection by real-time RT-PCR and next-generation sequencing. Data were obtained with standardised data collection forms shared by the International Severe Acute Respiratory and Emerging Infection Consortium from electronic medical records. Researchers also directly communicated with patients or their ...

Pervushin, Irina Slepneva, Viktor V. Glupov, Olga N. YaroslavtsevaAbstractEntomopathogenic fungi form different strategies of interaction with their insect hosts. The influence of fungal infection on insect physiology has mainly been studied for generalists (Metarhizium, Beauveria), but studies of specialized teleomorphic species, such as Cordyceps militaris, are rare. We conducted a comparative analysis of the immune reactions of...

Here, zinc oxide nanoparticle (ZnONP) was synthesized using βGBP from the crab Scylla serrata (Ss-βGBP-ZnONP). Ss-βGBP-ZnONP was observed as a 100 kDa band on sodium dodecyl sulfate polyacrylamide gel and characterized with UV&nd...
