The relation of myocardial and extra-myocardial inflammation in patients with cardiac sarcoidosis (CS). Evaluation by whole body 18F FDG-PET

Conclusions The extra-myocardial inflammation was frequently observed in whole-body FDG and linked to myocardial active inflammation in CS. However, active inflammation was no longer observed in advanced LV dysfunction. Active systemic sarcoidosis with cardiac involvement needs to be considered as early stage of CS which can be salvaged by anti-inflammatory therapy. $$graphic_FBC6DAA5-224E-4ACB-9906-2573C4BF2033$$
