ConclusionsAll stage N3b patients with AGC should not be considered equivalent. A significant difference in survival was observed between stage N3b1 and N3b2 patients after radical surgery, while the survival of stage N3b2 patients was similar to that of patients who undergo palliative surgery. We recommend re-classifying stage T2 –3N3b1 as TNM stage IIIB, stage T4N3b1 as stage IIIC, and T2–4N3b2 as stage IV.

Authors: Zong L, Li H, Li S Abstract PURPOSE: To investigate the effects of neoadjuvant chemotherapy combined with enteral nutrition on perioperative immunity, inflammation and intestinal flora in gastric cancer patients. METHODS: A total of 96 gastric cancer patients scheduled to undergo operation were selected and randomly divided into the observation group (n=48) and the control group (n=48). The patients in the control group were treated with neoadjuvant chemotherapy before operation, while those in the observation group received enteral nutrition before operation based on the treatment in the control group...

CONCLUSIONS: In this meta-analysis, EBV infection rate was significantly higher in males and in diffuse cancer type. However, there was no marked association with lymph node metastasis, age and pathologic tumor stage. Thus, EBV-positive gastric cancer has distinct clinicopathological features. Authors: Li T, Xiang PLB Abstract PURPOSE: To study the clinical effect of endoscopic mucosal resection (EMR) in the treatment of early gastric cancer (EGC), and to evaluate the recovery and prognosis, so as to provide references for clinical selection of treatment methods. METHODS: 120 patients with EGC were selected and randomly divided into the EMR group and the radical surgery group. Before surgery and 3 days after surgery, the levels of traumatic response-related indexes in serum [adrenocorticotropic hormone (ACTH), cortisol (Cor), gastrin (GAS) and motilin (MTL)] were assessed. Before surgery, 3 months an...
