Subject to the availability of funds, USDOL’s Bureau of International Labor Affairs (ILAB) intends to award, through a competitive process, one or more cooperative agreements to organizations to implement a project in Madagascar. The proposed objective of the project is to reduce child labor in the vanilla-producing areas of the Sava region of Madagascar. The project outcomes include: (1) vanilla exporters have significantly reduced child labor in the production of vanilla at the farm and collection levels in Sava; (2) law enforcement entities are effectively enforcing child labor laws and policies in the vanilla-producing areas of Sava, including imposing and collecting penalties and referring child labor victims to appropriate services; (3) community memb...
