Objective Test the hypothesis that the isokinetic evaluation of pathological shoulders are not properly executed in accordance with the programmed speeds. Materials and methods Retrospective analysis on 101 isokinetic shoulder tests conducted under a variety of pathologies, with verification of the peak speed of performance for different repetitions. Results Sixty-six of 101 patients did not perform the entire assessment at the speed specified by the protocol. This could involve at least one speed and at least one muscle groups explored. This covered 40% of men and almost all women. It seems that interested the different pathologies for which patients were addressed. Overall, when the speed has not been reached, it has mainly concerned protocols using a speed of 180̊/s, with a trend most important for the lateral cuff, either the side of the shoulder or pathological health. Conclusion These results raise the question of the interpretation of these assessments when speeds are not affected and encourage a systematic verification of e...
