Hospital Warns of Possible Patient HIV Transmission

South Nassau Communities Hospital on Long Island is sending more than 4000 patients letters warning that they may have been exposed to the hepatitis virus and HIV through the multiple use of an insulin reservoir. Although officials think the risk of HIV transmission is very low, they are notifying possibly infected patients through an abundance of caution.
