For each amputation, mice were anesthetized, the hindlimb claw was extended, and the distal phalanx and footpad was sharply dissected. A regenerating distal phalanx was generated by amputating ≤33% of the P3. Skin wounds were allowed to heal without suturing. Mice were subjected to micro-computed tomography (microCT) one day prior to surgery and immediately after amputa...

CONCLUSION Percutaneous drainage is the first treatment option for retroperitoneal abscesses due to procedural reliability, elimination of need for general anesthesia, better tolerability, and lower morbidity and mortality rates compared with the surgical methods. High cure, temporization, or palliation rates can be obtained via imaging-guided percutaneous drainage for all retroperitoneal abscesses with a safe access route. AbstractTo correlate the pre-operative Temporal Bone High Resolution Computer Tomography (HRCT) Scan findings with intraoperative findings in Chronic Otitis Media —Squamous type. This prospective, correlative, observational study was done at Department of Otorhinolaryngology and Head and Neck Surgery, Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital, Kathmandu. 156 patients underwent mastoid surgery under General Anaesthesia from October 2017 to November 2018. Ethica l committee approval taken from the institutional review committee. Informed consent regarding the study was taken prior to surgery. The peroperative findings wer...

CONCLUSIONS: This comprehensive anatomical database of upper airway dimensions provide important data in the field of pediatric airway anatomy, particularly relating to the cricoid. We demonstrated that laryngeal, tracheal and bronchial parameters correlate better to age and have three different growth phases. PMID: 31995659 [PubMed - as supplied by publisher]

Conclusions: Our survey suggested a fairly uniform treatment paradigm for cervical cancer brachytherapy, with a progressive shift from 2D to 3D image-based parameters for planning, with persistence of point A based prescription. Further efforts are needed to augment and ease this transition. PMID: 31969910 [PubMed]

A 44-year-old woman presented with lumbar pain (visual analog scale [VAS]  = 9) secondary to adrenocortical carcinoma sclerotic L4-vertebral metastasis. The positron emission tomography-computed tomography hypermetabolic lesion (Fig 1a,d) was unresponsive to radiotherapy or chemotherapy. She refused surgery. Following general anesthesia and aseptic preparation, 2 power d rill-mounted (Aesculap, Center Valley, Pennsylvania) k-wires were inserted in each vertebral pedicle with lateromedial opposite directions, resulting in crossed wires.

Conclusions: Percutaneous CT-guided cholecystostomy is reserved for patients with a serious medical status for various reasons that preclude surgical treatment and general anesthesia. Simultaneously, technical success and efficacy are high and the complication rate is acceptable. PMID: 31908697 [PubMed]

The patient was induced with fentanyl, propofol, and rocuronium, and then he was positioned in the prone position. After 6 h of starting the surgery, the patient started to be hypotension and bradycardia followed by pulseless electrical activity (PEA). Code blue was activated intraoperatively with immediate initiation of cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR...
