Cerebral Amyloid Angiopathy Presenting as New Onset Refractory Status Epilepticus(NORSE), Complicated by Psychosis, Dysautonomia and Posterior Reversible Encephalopathy Syndrome(PRES) (P6.219)

CONCLUSIONS: NORSE as the presenting symptom of CAA has been reported once but not in absence of CMB.There were other prominent psychotic features which als occurred prior to appearance of CMBs. Cortical hemorrhages appeared after, and probably as a consequence of PRES.The presentation and subsequent clinical course of this patient raised the concern for rapidly progressive dementia and a brain biopsy earlier in the clinical course might have helped in early diagnosis. We recommend that CAA should be considered strongly in differential for rapidly progressive dementia.Disclosure: Dr. Sharma has nothing to disclose. Dr. Schmidt has nothing to disclose.
