Managing scour in calves
Merial Animal Health has added Locatim, an oral antibody supplement to help in the management of scour in calves, to its product range. The company explains that the product is manufactured from the colostrum of high health status cows that are hyperimmunised against Escherichia coli, rotavirus and coronavirus. It says the product contains a guaranteed concentration of specific antibodies to enterotoxic E coli F5 (K99) and that, when given alongside the dam's colostrum, it provides enhanced protection against infection, reducing calf mortality due to neonatal diarrhoea caused by E coli F5 (K99), and helping to protect calf health during the critical rearing period.
