Case Series of Ovarian Tissue Preservation Cases in a Pediatric Hospital
Survival rates for childhood cancers have increased significantly in the past few decades making long term effects including infertility important factors to consider. Many girls treated with gonadotoxic chemotherapy and/or radiotherapy will experience premature ovarian insufficiency and infertility. Standard of care for fertility preservation includes embryo and oocyte cryopreservation, but this is not an option for pre-menarchal girls or those who cannot delay treatment. Ovarian tissue preservation is an option for these individuals.
