Cool Creative Communications: Dazzling Data Visualization, March 14 – April 8
Dazzle your clients, colleagues, classmates (and yourself!)! This class covers concepts of visually representing data and proven tools that are effective in making data understood at a glance. Students will increase their knowledge on data visualization concepts and a variety of data visualization applications. Students will complete assigned exercises that they will share with their class peers. Class participants are expected to spend 1.5 hours on content learning, 3 hours of in-depth learning on student selected tool/application and preparing their class assignment, and .5 hours on peer critique.
Participants will be able to:
Increase their knowledge of using visual representations of data and various data visualization tools.
Design a data visualization with a data set on a selected tool.
Discuss peer submitted data visualizations to enhance understanding of the data presented.
March 14 – April 8, 2016 (4 weeks), online/asynchronous via Moodle
