Defining characteristics of the nursing diagnosis "ineffective airway clearance".

CONCLUSION: the characteristics decreased breath sounds, ineffective cough and respiratory adventitious sounds have better predictive capacity for the diagnosis "ineffective airway clearance" in children with acute respiratory infection.
