Do you want to teach about the process of science? Check out the new iTunes “How Science Works” course available now for the iPad. UCMP partnered with the California Academy of Sciences to produce an iTunes U course based on content from the Understanding Science website that provides a dynamic and interactive approach to increase understanding of the nature and process of science. Do you teach plant science? PlantingScience, a collaborative outreach program of 14 scientific organizations led by the Botanical Society of America, has new resources on this growing website, including a downloadable “Plant Investigation Toolkit” with help on topics ranging from “Using Math” to “Plant Care” to “Imaging Technology.” Students, teachers, and mentors now each have a new extensive “Roadmap through an Investigation.” If you haven’t visited www.plantingscience.org lately, please stop by! Do you teach genetics? The Genetics Society of America is actively soliciting submissions for a repository of excellent genetics education resources. GSA Peer-Reviewed Educational Resource Portal (GSA PREP). In addition, the GSA’s journal, Genetics introduced a new type of article called Primers in 2012, designed to make it easy to bring primary research literature into the classroom.
