Maladie de Lapeyronie et dysfonction érectile: A propos de 25 cas

Objectives To identify and characterize erectile dysfunction in patients treated for Peyronie's disease (PD). Patients and methods This single-center prospective study gathering 25 patients treated for PD was carried out in a Senegalese hospital between January 2012 and December 2013. The variables studied were: age, presence or not of erectile dysfunction according to the International Index of Erectile Function 5 (IIEF5), comorbidity, psychological profile, presence of Peyronie plaques, degree and direction of the curve, whether or not penile intromission was possible and treatment of erectile dysfunction. Results The patients’ mean age was 57±8.7 years. Eleven patients had erectile dysfunction (44%), 3 during the acute phase and 8 in the aftermath. The IIEF-5 score was 16.5±4.3. Comorbid conditions such as hypertension and diabetes were noted in 13 patients (52%). The size of most plaques was ≤3cm. The average degree of curvature was 33.6°±16.4°. The majority of patients (52%) were able to penetrate during intercourse without difficulty. A curvature of 45° and more had an adverse impact on intromission during sexual intercourse.
