CONCLUSION: Men with rectal prolapse were younger, healthier, and had relatively better anorectal function than women. The Delorme-Thiersch operation in men promoted lower recurrence rates and was advantageous in preserving the fertility of young patients, but the incidence of complications was also higher in men. CONCLUSION: Surgical oncologists consider the patient's condition and postoperative course rather than high-risk factors to determine use of AC. Regardless of AC use, both the extent of surgery and the patient's subsequent status affected the survival rate in the high-risk group. CONCLUSION: R2PHF was safe and well-tolerated at doses ranging from 0.0625 to 0.50 mg. A single administration of 0.50 mg was determined to be the maximum tolerated dose of R2PHF. Further pharmacodynamics, safety, and efficacy testing is required to advance R2PHF to the next stage of clinical development and application.

This study investigates the safety and efficacy of a large-dose, needle-based epidural technique in obstetric anesthesia. The technique differs from a standard, catheter-based approach in that the anesthetic dose is administered through an epidural needle prior to insertion of the epidural catheter.
