Stuttering mesenteric ischemia
A 60 year old male with past medical history of bicuspid aortic valve status post mechanical aortic valve replacement, opioid dependence, chronic back pain, head injury and hypertension presenting with generalized abdomen progressively worsening for last 2 weeks. Patient had generalized tenderness on exam. CT abdomen and pelvis with IV contrast was done in ED didn’t show any abnormality. Urgent CT abdomen and pelvis with contrast was done. It showed new thickening of a segment of mid ileum extending over approximately 30-40 cm with possible pneumatosis.
