Committing suicide is horrible.  It is a horrendous thing to think about someone not being around anymore, and not being able to see them anymore and not being a part of their lives.  Another thing that often goes unnoticed; however, is the ones suicide and grief will leave behind. The Karla Smith Foundation offers the following services to family members and friends of those affected by mental illness and suicide. Support groups for family members of those with mental illness, Support groups for families coping with suicide grief,  Peer-to-peer coaching, Free education materials, Public awareness events, a local resource directory and financial aid when possible.
