This process has involved 12 years of extensive literature review, data-gathering and iterative model development, through extensive collaboration with CDC, WHO, and other international polio experts. Kid Risk, Inc staff has developed extensive knowledge and expertise about the Global Polio Eradication Initiative and has collected data concerning polio outbreaks, policies, risks and costs, which will be critical for the necessary timely completion of future collaboration. The results of their analyses conducted in this FOA will provide information to guide GPEI partners, SAGE and countries in formulating policies and implementing activities in the polio endgame. The proposed surveillance decision support tool will help GPEI and countries be judicious in their use of resources including immunization options and OPV cessation planning.
