Clinical significance of the anterosuperior lymph nodes along the common hepatic artery identified by sentinel node mapping in patients with gastric cancer
Conclusions We found that SN No. 8a seemed to have lymphatic flow not only from the r-GA basin, but also from the l-GA basin or r-GEA basin. When SN No. 8a are detected, we should be careful to perform function-preserving surgery, even in SN-negative cases.
Cancer Gene Therapy, Published online: 15 July 2019; doi:10.1038/s41417-019-0118-6MicroRNA-4268 inhibits cell proliferation via AKT/JNK signalling pathways by targeting Rab6B in human gastric cancer
ConclusionsGastric cancer with peritoneal metastases was successfully treated with a combination of gastrectomy plus intraperitoneal and systemic chemotherapy. Further studies using this simplified approach may be indicated.
Conclusion: In conclusion, the results indicate the potential application of Allium genus to GC chemoprevention and treatment support through CDH restoration and COX2 downregulation. This issue needs further investigations as it might be used in clinics. PMID: 31297043 [PubMed]
Authors: Nagano N, Suzuki M, Tamura K, Kobayashi S, Kojima Y, Naka G, Iikura M, Izumi S, Takeda Y, Sugiyama H Abstract Chylothorax is the accumulation of lipid pleural effusion. Few reports have described chylothorax caused by gastric cancer. A 45-year-old woman presented with progressive lymphedema and bilateral chylothorax. Although repetitive thoracentesis was performed to relieve her dyspnea, swelling of her axillary lymph nodes became significant. Positron emission tomography/computed tomography demonstrated the accumulation of 18F-fluorodeoxyglucose in these nodes, and a lymph node biopsy showed signet ring c...
We examined the risk factors for lymph node metastasis in RGC, especially for tumors located at the greater curvature (G) or non-greater curvature (NG), to determine the appropriate indications of curative surgery.MethodsData from the two high-volume centers of Japan between 1998 and 2018 were retrospectively reviewed. Among the 137 patients enrolled in this study, 34 were classified as the G group and 103 as the NG group. The incidence of lymph node metastasis and its risk factors was evaluated.ResultsLymph node metastasis was observed in 21.2% (29/137), including 38.2% (13/34) in the G group and 15.5% (16/103) in the NG ...
ConclusionWe demonstrated a new approach of NIR-PIT utilizing a target on vascular endothelium, such as VEGFR-2, and this treatment might lead to the development of a new therapeutic strategy for human gastric cancer.
Objective: To define the influence of preoperative immune modulating nutrition (IMN) on postoperative outcomes in patients undergoing surgery for gastrointestinal cancer. Background: Although studies have shown that perioperative IMN may reduce postoperative infectious complications, many of these have included patients with benign and malignant disease, and the optimal timing of such an intervention is not clear. Methods: The Embase, Medline, and Cochrane databases were searched from 2000 to 2018, for prospective randomized controlled trials evaluating preoperative oral or enteral IMN in patients undergoing surger...
Conclusion: MSI status and PD-L1 expression are clinically actionable biomarkers for stratifying patients and predicting benefit from adjuvant chemotherapy after D2 gastrectomy for stage II/III gastric cancer.
