Współistnienie eozynofilowego zapalenia jelit i choroby trzewnej u 2-letniej dziewczynki – opis przypadku

This study shows the coexistence of eosinophilic colitis and coeliac disease in a two-year-old girl. The diagnosis of eosinophilic inflammation was established quite fast after panendoscopy examination that is always technically difficult to perform in case of an infant. The delay in diagnosis occurred as a result of incorrect single specific serologic analysis, as well as the lack of connection of its result with the anamnesis involving the type of feeding. This case proves the necessity of simultaneous analysis of specific antibodies within two immunoglobulin classes (IgA and IgG) in children who are likely to suffer from coeliac disease.
