Infection, vaccination, and childhood arterial ischemic stroke: Results of the VIPS study

Conclusions:
Infection may act as a trigger for childhood AIS, while routine vaccinations appear protective. Hence, efforts to reduce the spread of common infections might help prevent stroke in children.
