Identifying treatment effect heterogeneity in clinical trials using subpopulations of events: STEPP.

CONCLUSION: The STEPP methodology can be used to study complex patterns of treatment effect heterogeneity, as illustrated in the Breast International Group 1-98 randomized clinical trial.
