[The Conversation Africa] The antimalarial drug upon which the recent award of the Nobel Prize for Physiology or Medicine is based has a rich history and has been used in Chinese traditional medicine for at least 2000 years. The herb is an annual shrub known scientifically as artemisia annua and called qing hao by the Chinese.
