October 15 is National Latino AIDS Awareness Day

October 15 is National Latino AIDS Awareness Day. This observance serves to heighten awareness of the disproportionate burden of HIV among Hispanics/Latinos. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the estimated new HIV infection rate among Hispanics/Latinos in 2010 in the United States was more than 3 times as high as that of whites.   Visit our National Latino AIDS Awareness Day webpage [en español] to learn more about HIV in the Hispanic/Latino population.
