Call for Nominations: Philip S. Portoghese Journal of Medicinal Chemistry/American Chemical Society Division of Medicinal Chemistry Joint Lectureship

The objective of this lectureship is to honor the contributions of an individual who has had a major impact on medicinal chemistry research. The lectureship will be administered jointly by the Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Medicinal Chemistry and the Division of Medicinal Chemistry of the American Chemical Society. The award will be funded principally by the Journal of Medicinal Chemistry (ACS Publications Division) and will consist of an honorarium of $3,000, a suitable plaque, and travel expenses. Selection of the awardee will be made by a committee consisting of one Associate Editor of the Journal of Medicinal Chemistry (chosen by the Editor), one ACS member (chosen by the Chair of the Division of Medicinal Chemistry) and one member of the Journal of Medicinal Chemistry Editorial Advisory Board to be chosen jointly by the Editor and the Division. Awardee selection will be made by June 30, and the award address will be given at the fall National ACS meeting during the regularly scheduled award symposium. To further promote the prize and the journal, the winner will be asked to submit a Perspective article for publication in the Journal of Medicinal Chemistry. Eligible candidates should meet the above criteria and have published at least one article in the Journal of Medicinal Chemistry.
