Siblings Give Babies More Pertussis Than Moms Do

Immediate family members gave pertussis to infants in two thirds of cases where the source of a baby’s infection could be identified, according to a new study in Pediatrics. Specifically, more than a third of babies caught pertussis, or whooping cough, from their brother or sister, the researchers found.
