Predicting readmission risk with institution-specific prediction models

Conclusions The institution-specific readmission risk prediction framework is more flexible and more effective than the one-size-fit-all models like the LACE, sometimes twice and three-time more effective. The admission-time models are able to give early warning signs compared to the discharge-time models, and may be able to help hospital staff intervene early while the patient is still in the hospital.

Conclusions: The mFI-5 is an independent predictor of postoperative morbidity and mortality in elderly patients undergoing surgery for hip fractures. This clinical tool can be used by hospitals and surgeons to identify high-risk patients, accurately council patients and families with transparency, and guide perioperative care to optimize patient outcomes. ConclusionsCompared with the unvaccinated ICU survivors, the influenza vaccinated ICU survivors had a lower 1-year risk of stroke and a lower 1-year risk of death, whereas no substantial association was observed for the risk of hospitalization for myocardial infarction, heart failure, or pneumonia.
