Judge: Reliance On Medical Opinions Was Not Arbitrary

TRENTON, N.J. - An ERISA-governed disability insurer that denied benefits to a claimant with chronic fatigue syndrome under a plan's any occupation coverage period acted reasonably, a New Jersey federal judge ruled Jan. 31 (Sylvia Rodriguez v. Reliance Standard Life Insurance Co., No. 2:12-cv-04810, D. N.J.; 2014 U.S. Dist. LEXIS 12501).
