Africa: Positive View From European Regulators for the Prevention of Malaria in Young Children in Sub-Sahara

[Ethiopian Herald] GSK announced that the European Medicines Agency (EMA), the medicines regulator, has adopted a 'positive scientific opinion' for its malaria vaccine candidate RTS,S- in children aged six weeks to 17 months. This decision paves the way for the World Health Organization (WHO) and African countries' health authorities to assess whether and how the vaccine could be introduced in national immunization programmes across the continent.
