Melatonin Interaction Resulting in Severe Sedation.

CONCLUSION: The adverse event was likely due to a primary pharmacokinetic interaction between melatonin and citalopram; although mechanistically, interactions affecting cytochrome P450-mediated metabolism may have occurred with all of these health products.
