SUMMARY ANSWER: Maternal age affects the quality of maturated oocytes by altering the stored mRNA levels in human, such as TOP2B. WHAT IS KNOWN ALREADY: Intracellular mRNAs in maturated oocytes are tran-scripted from the maternal genome during oogenesis and important for the zygotic genome activation (ZGA) after fertilization. Microarray data showe...

Conclusion(s)The presence of lipid receptors/transporters and HSL in human spermatozoa suggests their role in the process of maturation/capacitation. The changes in the expression of lipid receptors/transporters and the lack of the 130-kDa HSL isoform in obese patients prevent the hydrolysis of cholesterol esters internalized by these receptors, and favor their accumulation in the cytoplasm of the spermatozoa that could contribute to lipotoxicity and infertility.

AbstractEndometriosis is a benign chronic inflammatory disease that mostly affects women of reproductive age. The disease is often associated with dysmenorrhoea, pelvic and non-menstrual pain, and infertility. NSAIDs and hormonal suppression therapies (i.e. estroprogestins and progestins) are generally used as first-line treatment to alleviate pain symptoms. Second-line options include other hormonal suppressants, such as gonadotropin-releasing hormone agonists and antagonists and, less commonly, danazol and aromatase inhibitors.

AbstractPurposeThe aim of the present study was to examine the effects of planned yoga practices on stress levels in infertile women.Design and MethodsThis randomized controlled study included 128 volunteer women who were registered at a private in vitro fertilization (IVF) clinic and received infertility treatment. The patients in the experimental group took part in the yoga program twice a week for 6 weeks. A personal information form and The Copenhagen Multi ‐center Psychosocial Infertility (COMPI) Fertility Problem Stress Scale were used to collect data.FindingsThe differences between the mean scores of the control a...
