Naloxone lotion improves disabling itch in CTCL

VANCOUVER, B.C. – Naloxone lotion appears to be a safe and effective treatment for the severe chronic itching that occurs in most patients with cutaneous T-cell lymphoma, Dr. Madeleine Duvic reported at the World Congress of Dermatology. A major unmet need exists for better treatments for...googletag.display('div-gpt-ad-cta');

Conclusions: We profiled both lncRNA and mRNA expression patterns in MDV-infected chicken spleens. Expression variations of intergroup specifically deregulated genes engaged in important immune process likely contributed to robust immune system in the survivors. Some oncogenesis or MD resistance related genes deregulated between groups, like CTLA4, HDAC9 and CD72 were found. Co-expression network analysis manifested that lncRNAs may affect MD resistance and tumorigenesis in chicken spleens through their impact on expression of CTLA4, SWAP70 and some other genes that are critical in many important biological processes, such...

AbstractBackgroundSkin prick tests (SPTs) are essential for the diagnosis of IgE-mediated allergy and are influenced by extract quality, biological potency and concentration of allergen.MethodsIn this open multicentre study 431 patients, aged 18 –64 years were enrolled. Patients had a history of IgE-mediated allergy and a sensitisation (previous positive SPT of any manufacturer) against at least one of the investigated allergens: 6-grass pollen, house dust mite, birch and mugwort pollen. In our study, these allergens were tested in five concentrations each. To establish the optimal trade-off between sensitivity ...

BackgroundMuch of the literature examining chronic rhinosinusitis with nasal polyps (CRSwNP) immunopathology has been predicated on messenger RNA (mRNA) analysis with the assumption that transcriptional changes would reflect end ‐effector protein expression. The purpose of this study was to test this hypothesis using matched transcriptomic and proteomic data sets.MethodsMatched tissue proteomic and transcriptomic arrays were quantified in CRSwNP polyp tissue and control inferior turbinate tissue (n = 10/group). Mucus samples were additionally collected in 6 subjects from each group. Proteins were grouped into functional ...
