DoshiTeaser Patients with newly diagnosed cardiomyopathy require careful assessment of cause and initiation of treatment before the decision is made to implant an internal cardiac defibrillator. In patients with medicine-refractory atrial fibrillation and cardiomyopathy, atrioventricular node ablation and implantation of a biventricular pacemaker is the therapy of choice when tachycardia-induced cardiomyopathy is suspected and curative therapy is not possible.
