118. Evaluating the Heads-Ed Screening Tool in Adolescent Mental Health

Background: The World Health Organization stated that one in four people in the world is affected by mental disorders at a certain point in their life. In the Philippines, a report revealed that about 10-15 percent of children are affected with mental health disorders. The Philippine Pediatric Society advocates the use of the Patient Health Questionnaire-9 (PHQ-9) combined with the Columbia Suicidal Severity Rating Scale (C-SSRS) in screening adolescents for mental health disorders. However, taking these screening tests take time and may not be feasible in the emergency setting.
