Common Acid Reflux Drugs Associated With Increased Risk for Heart Attacks
Based on results of a new study from researchers at Houston Methodist and Stanford University, adults who take proton pump inhibitors (PPIs) for heartburn and other gastrointestinal ailments are between 16% and 21% more likely to experience a heart attack than those who do not use the widely available acid blocker.
