One undescribed glycoside benzofuran derivative and a new < em > p < /em > -hydroxybenzoate glycoside from the leaves of < em > Illicium dunnianum < /em > Tutcher

Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTOne undescribed benzofuran derivative (illiciumphenolicacid A, 1) and one new phenolic glycoside (illiciumphenolicacid B, 2), together with six known compounds (3-8) were isolated from the leaves of Illicium dunnianum Tutcher. Their structures were elucidated by detailed spectroscopic data (UV, IR, HR-ESI-MS, 1D and 2D NMR). In addition, we determined the α-glucosidase inhibitory activity of the isolates in vitro using spectrophotometric methods. Compared with the positive control acarbose (IC50 306.2 ± 4.1 μM), compounds 1-8 were shown to be moderate potential α-glucosidase inhibitory activity with IC50 values in the range 380-655 μM.PMID:37265095 | DOI:10.1080/14786419.2023.2216348
