Review: “Long-Term Medication Adherence in Acute Coronary Syndrome Survivors: Exploring Underlying Factors” – Corresponding Letter

The author read the systematic review “Adherence evidence-based secondary prevention pharmacotherapy in patients after an acute coronary syndrome: a systematic review”.1 Long-term medication adherence is critical especially when studies report significant mortality and increased readmission rates in patients who fail to adhere to cardio-protective medications after an acute coronary event.2–4 While the topic is timely and relevant to the current challenges faced by clinicians, there are significant concerns in the presentation of the findings from this review.
