The gob, it is smacked

Yesterday was a very busy news day, that gave us plenty to think about, but I have to admit that my brain was most engaged by the story of the leaked classified documents. You may think that out of character, but it ' s because the other news of April 13*, however more important it may have been, unfortunately wasn ' t so surprising and strange. How can it be that a low-ranking enlisted airman has been printing out highly classified documents, folding them up and stuffing them in his pockets, walking out with them, spreading them out on his kitchen counter, photographing them, and posting them online, formonths? Now, I do believe, and I think I ' ve said it here, that the U.S. classifies far too much information. Much of it is classified to keep it from the citizenry, not from foreign adversaries, who in many cases already know it. However, when there is an actual war going on, and the U.S. is supporting one side with money, intelligence, logistics and material support, then operational assessments and battle plans probably ought to be classified, no? Also, while Israel and South Korea and other allies are well aware that we spy on them -- as they spy on us -- it ' s polite to keep the actual contents a secret. So yeah, I though this was kind of weird.It turns out that heclaims to love God and guns. He also is a patriot who hates Jews and Blacks, the FBI, and the U.S. government. None of this makes him in the least unusual in the Air Force. All of this probably describes...
