Dysphagia (dys) palliation in inoperable esophageal cancer (EC) continues to be a challenge. While chemotherapy and radiation help with dys, many patients require endoscopic interventions. Self-expanding metal stents have been the mainstay for endoscopic palliation but have a significant risk of adverse events (AEs), including reflux. Liquid nitrogen spray Cryotherapy (cryo) is an established modality that can be used with ST. Retrospective studies showed improvement in dys with a favorable AE profile but did not report on quality of life (QoL) in patients receiving ST.
