Medtronic hit with $106M verdict in patent fight with Colibri Heart Valve

A federal jury in California decided that a unit of Medtronic (NYSE: MDT) must pay $106.5 million in a patent-infringement lawsuit filed by a rival maker of heart valve devices. Reuters has a report on the verdict, which found in favor of Louisville, Colorado-based Colibri Heart Valve. Colibri claimed that Medtronic CoreValve Evolut devices violate one of its own patents.
