In this study, we show that calorie restriction is protective against age-related increases in senescence and microglia activation and pro-inflammatory cytokine expression in an animal model of aging. Further, these protective effects mitigated age-related decline in neuroblast and neuronal production, and enhanced olfactory memory performance, a behavioral index of neurogenesis in the SVZ. Conclusion: We reported the synergistic anti-tumor efficacy of ZD55-IL-24 and DTX on prostate cancer. Our results suggest that chemotherapy combined with oncolytic adenovirus mediated gene therapy is a promising strategy for the treatment of advanced prostate cancer.

ConclusionsThe emergence of new drugs for mCRPC has improved treatment options dramatically. CONCLUSIONS: Compared to ADT alone, the early (within 120 days of beginning ADT) addition of taxane-based chemotherapy to ADT for hormone-sensitive prostate cancer probably prolongs both overall and disease-specific survival and delays disease progression. There may be an increase in toxicity with taxane-based chemotherapy in combination with ADT. (University of East Anglia) A new cancer therapy using nanoparticles to deliver a combination therapy direct to cancer cells could be on the horizon.Using nanoparticles to get drugs directly into a tumor is a growing area of cancer research. The technology developed at UEA is the first of its kind to use nanoparticles to deliver two drugs in combination to target cancer cells. The therapy has been shown to make breast cancer and prostate cancer tumors more sensitive to chemotherapy.
