Effect of Awake Prone Positioning on Patients With COVID-19 and Acute Respiratory Failure

To the Editor We are writing about the recent COVI-PRONE (Awake Prone Position in Hypoxemic Patients with Coronavirus Disease 19) trial, which investigated the effect of awake prone positioning on endotracheal intubation in patients with COVID-19 and acute respiratory failure. Culture varies across countries and may affect the causal pathway being tested. The findings in this trial, which included aggregated data from 4 countries, may differ if data from Middle Eastern and Western countries are analyzed separately.
