Predictive role of circulatory levels of high-mobility group box 1 for radiation pneumonitis in patients with non-small cell lung cancer treated with definitive thoracic radiotherapy

ConclusionsHigher serum HMGB1 levels were significantly associated with the risk of grade  ≥ 3 radiation pneumonitis in patients with lung cancer, and therefore, HMGB1 could be a potential blood biomarker for predicting severe radiation pneumonitis.
