Metachronous metastasis of clear cell renal cell carcinoma to parotid 8 years after nephrectomy
We report a case of metastasis to the parotid gland of a 72-year-old male patient who had had a nephrectomy 8 years ago for clear cell renal cell carcinoma (CCRCC). The patient presented with a nodular mass in the left parotid gland. Doppler imaging examination revealed an increased volume containing a hypoechoic nodule with lobulated contours, heterogeneous texture, measuring 2.0 cm. Fine needle aspiration cytology was performed and the result was compatible with pleomorphic adenoma. The patient was referred to Head and Neck Surgery and an excisional biopsy was performed.
