Squamous cell carcinoma of lip: case report

An 87-year-old female patient attended the stomatology clinic. She denied comorbidities or being under medical treatment and reported being a smoker. Intraoral examination revealed an ulcerated, brownish, hardened lesion of approximately 2 cm located in the upper lip fold. According to the patient, the lesion was painful and had grown progressively for 6 months. The clinical diagnosis was oral squamous cell carcinoma, and the patient was sent to an oncology hospital for biopsy and treatment. The specimen showed an invasive, moderately differentiated squamous cell carcinoma.
