Laparoscopic surgery for complex Crohn ’s disease: perioperative and long-term results from a propensity matched cohort

ConclusionIn the setting of complicated Crohn ’s, in matched cohorts, laparoscopic surgery is associated with reduced operative times and LOS. Mortality, reoperation, and symptomatic hernia rates were equivalent to open surgery. Patients undergoing laparoscopic surgery are less likely to experience postoperative sepsis.
