Body Mass Index and Stroke Subtype in a Young Adult Stroke Population (P7.126)

CONCLUSIONS: In our group of young adult stroke patients, we found the highest BMI in the group with intracranial atherosclerosis. Although this group represented a small number of patients, this young adult population is at increased risk for future strokes. It is important to educate them on lifestyle modifications such as weight loss and exercise in addition to the treatment of hypertension, diabetes mellitus and hyperlipidemia.Disclosure: Dr. Youn has nothing to disclose.
