Limbic Encephalitis Exacerbations and Remissions Charted by Microglial PET Scan: A Case Study (P4.104)

CONCLUSIONS: C-11-PK11195 PET imaging can be useful in the diagnosis of limbic encephalitis and for monitoring response to treatment. MALT lymphoma may also be associated with autoimmune or paraneoplastic encephalitis, especially in individuals with other predisposing factors to autoimmune disorders, such as Tourette’s and autoimmune thyroid disease. The reduction in microglial activity with both IVIG and anti-psychotics supports previous findings that anti-psychotics may act through anti-inflammatory pathways.Disclosure: Dr. Shatz has received research support from Janssen Pharmaceutica. Dr. Chugani has nothing to disclose.

Tarsal coalitions have been reported in the setting of equinovarus foot deformities, but only as rare isolated findings. Failure to recognize this diagnosis may inhibit successful equinovarus correction. Here, we review a series of tarsal coalitions seen in congenital and neuropathic equinovarus deformity at two institutions, to report the breakdown of types of coalitions encountered, and to suggest methodology to facilitate earlier diagnosis. The records of all patients treated by two of the authors for bilateral equinovarus deformities and found to have either a unilateral or bilateral tarsal coalition between 2006 and 2...

Conclusions: Blood gas changes such as hypoxemia and respiratory acidosis were among the factors statistically associated with the development of symptomatic seizures in patients with respiratory diseases. Additionally, hypoxemia, hypercapnia, and respiratory acidosis were correlated with mortality in patients hospitalized for respiratory system diseases who requested consultations for seizures.RESUMO Objetivo: Convuls ões são uma condição neurológica comumente vivenciada durante o período de acompanhamento após distúrbios sistêmicos ou metabólicos. Conclusion: Plasma levels of adiponectin are associated with the ASPECTS scores.RESUMO Introdu ção: A Alberta Stroke Early Score (ASPECTS) foi desenvolvida para monitorização de alterações isquêmicas precoces na tomografia computadorizada de crânio, estando associada a desfechos clínicos. A ASPECTS também pode se associar aos biomarcadores periféricos que refletem a resposta fisio patológica do cérebro ao AVC isquêmico. Objetivo: Investigar à associação entre os parâmetros periféricos com a Alber...
