Durable response by olaparib for a Japanese patient with primary peritoneal cancer with multiple brain metastases: A case report
We report the case of a 58‐year‐old Japanese woman with recurrent PPC with multiple BM. After obtaining informed consent from the patient, we performed BRCA tes ting that detected a deleterious BRCA 1 mutation. At that time, olaparib was not yet approved in Japan, we learned about the compassionate use program of olaparib called Managed Access Program (MAP). Of note, we have established a system to enroll patients in MAP. After olaparib treatment, the patie nt exhibited a considerable decrease of BMs. Eighteen months since the initiation of olaparib treatment, the patient has reported no evidence of disease progression...

Resuscitative hysterotomy in a patient with peripartum cardiomyopathy
AbstractResuscitative hysterotomy (RH) is a resuscitation technique, allowing the restoration of a pregnant patient's heartbeat. Here, we reported a case of RH performed in a patient with cardiac arrest as a complication of a peripartum cardiomyopathy. A 29 ‐year‐old woman with suspected hemolysis, elevated liver enzymes, low platelet syndrome was admitted to the hospital. Cardiopulmonary resuscitation and RH were initiated at 30 weeks of gestation. The infant was successfully delivered 2 min after the mother's cardiac arrest, weighting 1388  g. At the first minute, the Apgar score was 3 and the 5th minute was 6....

Effect of intrauterine device insertion on Candida species in cervicovaginal specimen identified by polymerase chain reaction technic: A longitudinal study on Iranian women
ConclusionThere was more than about fourfold increase in positive Candida cultures after IUD insertion. As the prevalence of simultaneous infection with both ‘Albicans& Glabrata’ species which are resistant to usual treatment, increased, it seems necessary to provide more intensive follow‐up care for IUD users. Short ‐term outcomes of robotic‐assisted versus conventional laparoscopic radical hysterectomy for early‐stage cervical cancer: A single‐center study
ConclusionThe operative time was significantly longer and blood loss greater in the RARH than LRH group. A greater number of lymph nodes were removed in the RARH group. However, these differences seem to be within a clinically acceptable range, showing that RARH is as feasible and safe as LRH in terms of short ‐term outcomes.
